This policy covers Excess charges worldwide. Normally car hire firms in the US and Canada charge around $30 a day for CDW/LDW (Collision Damage Waiver) insurance and SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance)

So what’s covered?

• Damage to the hire car in the USA, Canada, Caribbean and South America for CDW up to eighty thousand US dollars
• Provides Supplemental SLI in the above countries up to one million US dollars
• Excess is covered on the hire car including the undercarriage, tyres, wheels and glass
• All drivers on the car hire agreement are covered
• Can be used as often as needed in twelve month agreement

Restrictions:

• This policy is not valid for those who live in the USA, South America, Canada or the Caribbean.
• You must live at least 150 kilometres from where you are hiring the car
• This policy does not cover exotic cars which are worth more than one hundred thousand US dollars or vintage cars older than twenty years
• Mobile homes and camper vans are not covered or any vehicle with more than eight seats
• You must be at least 21 years old and younger than 74 years old
• Hire restricted to 31 continuous days on any one rental agreement – you can rent the car as frequently as you like in the annual cover period.

And how does it work?

When you are hiring a car you must present the policy to the car hire company. Any claims will be arranged between the car hire company and the insurance company.

Note: It is not recommended to use this policy in combination with fly-drive programmes in the USA and Canada.
